comments have been provided verbatim to the Planning Board at least once in an agenda <br /> packet, and in most cases, twice. Staff and the Planning Board are working on a draft table of <br /> proposed revisions that have been prepared. Staff and Planning Board members both have the <br /> opportunity or the ability to add items to this table of proposed revisions based on the review <br /> that has taken place. Planning Board and staff have taken this review of public comments and <br /> the handling of the public comments very seriously. A significant amount of time has been <br /> scheduled by the Planning Board for the purpose of reviewing these comments at their <br /> meetings. He assured the Board that there is no censorship and all of the written comments <br /> provided have been distributed to the Planning Board. <br /> Commissioner Foushee said that she wants the public to be clear on this. <br /> Chair Jacobs said that because this comes back to the County Commissioners on <br /> October 7th does not mean the business will be concluded. <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner Foushee, seconded by Commissioner Carey to <br /> close the public hearing from May 19, 2008; close this public hearing; and refer the draft Plan to <br /> the Planning Board for a recommendation to be returned to the Board of County Commissioners <br /> October 7, 2008. <br /> Brian Ferrell suggested leaving the public hearing open for the purpose of receiving <br /> comments from the Town of Chapel Hill. <br /> Commissioner Foushee amended the motion to include leaving the public hearing open <br /> until comments are heard from the Town of Chapel Hill and any other towns in Orange County. <br /> Commissioner Carey seconded. <br /> Tom Altieri said that the public hearing is being held open specifically to receive <br /> additional comments from municipalities as opposed to further written comments submitted by <br /> the public. <br /> VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> D.
