Gordon Battle Courtroom in Hillsborough, North <br /> Carolina. <br /> COUNTY COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chair Barry Jacobs and Commissioners Moses <br /> Carey, Jr., Valerie P. Foushee, Alice M. Gordon, and Mike Nelson <br /> COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: <br /> COUNTY ATTORNEYS PRESENT: Geoffrey Gledhill <br /> COUNTY STAFF PRESENT: County Manager Laura Blackmon, Assistant County <br /> Managers Willie Best and Gwen Harvey, and Deputy Clerk to the Board, David Hunt (All other <br /> staff members will be identified appropriately below) <br /> NOTE: ALL DOCUMENTS REFERRED TO IN THESE MINUTES ARE IN THE PERMANENT <br /> AGENDA FILE IN THE CLERK'S OFFICE <br /> 1. Additions or Changes to the Agenda <br /> Chair Jacobs went through the items at the County Commissioners' places. There was <br /> a PowerPoint printout for Alternative Waste Processing Technologies Assessment; the <br /> Manager's Memo, including a Draft Long-Range Agenda Summary with future items; traffic <br /> impact analysis; documents from Summit Consulting regarding Buckhorn Village; light blue <br /> sheets related to Cabe Crossing subdivision; a comment from the Economic Development <br /> Commission related to Buckhorn Village; and the water supply reservoir water levels report. <br /> PUBLIC CHARGE <br /> The Chair dispensed with the reading of the public charge. <br /> 2. Public Comments, <br /> a. Matters not on the Printed Agenda <br /> Elizabeth Reid is Executive Director of the Alliance for Historic Hillsborough. This is a <br /> non-profit umbrella organization, which includes Historic Hillsborough Commission and the <br /> Historical Foundation of Hillsborough. Many of these organizations' archival collections are <br /> inaccessible to the public. She said that, in October 2006, her predecessor, Kathleen Turner <br /> asked the Orange County Board of Commissioners to take action upon the recommendations <br /> made by the Archival Task Force in 2001. She submitted the letter from 2001, which outlines <br /> the recommendations. The conclusion of the task force was that a North Carolina room of the <br /> Orange County Library be the centralized repository of a consolidated archival collection. This <br /> room could create a dynamic Heritage Center for Orange County. She asked for a status <br /> report on the Heritage Center. <br /> Chair Jacobs said that there would be a report back from staff on these questions. <br />
