Approved 10/1/08 3 0 3
comfortable passing along our support for the plan with the table of changes that we've reviewed tonight to the
Commissioners with the added statement that we've considered the new recommendation of the OUTBoard
regarding the transportation element and we were unable to reach any consensus, we had discussions that's
reflected in the minutes and we would ask them to read those minutes to understand our thoughts about them.

Craufurd Goodwin: Haven't we reached more of a consensus?

Jay Bryan: About transportation?

Craufurd Goodwin: Aren't we agreed that the first part is an improvement? Tom thinks it's an improvement, I
certainly did. It seems to me that, I guess Tom's suggestion is that we simply punt on the new goals and objectives
saying this is not an appropriate time to revise these.

Tom Altieri: Based on what I've heard tonight, that's one option that you have.

Jay Bryan: That's certainly right, ok. A motion?

Craufurd Goodwin: Can we do that with five (5) people?

Jay Bryan: Well, we're here, you all have been here the whole time and I think we should at least have the
opportunity for us to vote on a motion if you make that, Craufurd. Are there any other comments about the
comprehensive plan or anything else that people want to make. I understand you had a good discussion about
Bernadette's suggestions about sustainability and that's been included. I heard about community building that you
have support and as consideration, I appreciate. Do you have a motion Craufurd?

MOTION made by Craufurd Goodwin to approve the plan as it is being presented to us and revised, including the
transportation board's proposal with the exception that we do not approve the changes to the goals and objectives.
Seconded by Bernadette Pelissier

VOTE: Unanimous

Jay Bryan: We have the draft statement to the public record. Is there a motion to support the language?

MOTION made by Renee Price to accept the Planning Board statement for the public record review of the public
hearing comments on the draft comprehensive plan. Seconded by Larry Wright.

VOTE: Unanimous

Planning Board's Statement for the Public Record -Review of Public Hearing Comments on
the Draft Comprehensive Plan:

At the August 25, 2008 Public Hearing on the draft Comprehensive Plan, the Planning Board
learned that there was some confusion in the community that the Planning Board may not have
481. received and reviewed all of the public comments submitted on the draft Comprehensive Plan. For
the purpose of the public record, let it be made clear that the Planning Board has received all
public comments that have been submitted on the draft Plan and all comments have received
thorough and equal consideration by the Board during its review process. The Planning Board
attended public hearings in May and August to hear public comments, reviewed all written public
comments submitted, and held meetings on July 9~", August 6~!, September 3rd, and September
10~ to discuss comments and develop proposed revisions. for further consideration by the Board of
County Commissioners.
