NATURAL AND CULTURAL <br />SYSTEMS <br />As of 2007, over 22,000 acres of land in the <br />County has been protected through various <br />land conservation programs. These efforts <br />support the goals of sustaining a balanced <br />and healthy diversity of native plant and <br />animal populations, providing a network of <br />protection natural, cultural, and agricultural <br />lands, and achieving and adequate level of <br />protection for important natural areas, prime <br />forests, and wildlife habitat.
