155
Tom Altieri
From: Tracy Kuhlman [tckuhlman@nc.rr.com]
Sent: Monday, May 19, 2008 6:32 PM
To: CompPlanUpdate
Subject: OCCP and the Rogers-Eubanks Neighborhood
To Tom Altieri and others whom it may concern:
I am writing to request that Orange County's Comprehensive Plan take into account the needs of the Rogers-
Eubanks neighborhood. These needs have been clearly defined by the Rogers-Eubanks Neighborhood
Association (RENA) and its supporters in the Coalition to End Environmental Racism (CEER). They include the
need to end the operation of all solid waste facilities in the historic Rogers-Eubanks Neighborhood; the need for
funding to provide safe drinking water and sewer service to the neighborhood; and the need to provide other
municipal services as stipulated by the Rogers Road Enhancement Task Force (the task force that was created
by Orange County to asess these needs).
The Rogers-Eubanks neighborhood has lived with Orange County's garbage for over 35 years; now is the time for
the county to say "Thank you" and invest in this important neighborhood's well-being.
Sincerely,
Tracy Kuhlman
1009 Tallyho Trail
Chapel Hill, NC 27516
5/30/2008
