112 <br /> <br />November 15, 2007 <br />The mission of the Community Action Network (CA11~ is to fielp unify our community. <br />We share deep commitments to a sustainable community, fairness for all citizens, and ' <br />open and participatory government. As we strive to create better places to live, work and <br />play, we actively seek the many different viewpoints that contribute to the vitality of our <br />community. <br />To fulfill these commitments, C~1N supports positive leadership and broad citizen input, <br />balanced land-use planning, responsible fcscal policy, and creative partnerships. CANwill <br />examine and promote legislative, regulatory, electoral, and private efforts that advance <br />these goals. <br />In keeping with the above goals, CAN supports the Orange County Comprehensive Plan <br />Coalition to proactively encourage policies that lead to more livable and resource <br />efficient land use patterns, expand transportation planning, and alternatives, encourage <br />more affordable workforce housing, improve air quality, preserve natural resources, <br />conserve agricultural land and open space, and establish local economic and social <br />vitality. <br />It is with great enthusiasm that we as an organization engage in this process and hope that <br />our Orange County elected official, the staff, members of the advisory boards and <br />commissions, and all of our citizens recognize the importance of stakeholder input and <br />it's value in planuhlg for our future the an updated comprehensive plan. <br />Por the Board, <br />F1red Black <br />Chair <br />14 of 16 <br />
