4 <br />1) projects in the areas of Orange County within the Metropolitan Area Boundary (MAB) <br />of the Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro (DCHC) Metropolitan Planning Organization <br />(MPO) to be considered for inclusion in the Metropolitan Transportation Planning <br />Program (MTIP); and <br />2) projects in areas of the County outside the Metropolitan Area Boundary (MAB) to be <br />considered for inclusion in the Triangle Area Rural Planning Organization Regional <br />Priority List. <br />The OUTBoard's recommended Priority Lists (Attachment 3) separate projects by mode and <br />assign the priority of each project with respect to other projects of the same type. <br />Staff Recommendation <br />Staff recommends that the Board approve a single priority list that is not divided by <br />transportation mode to submit to the DCHC MPO and a single priority list that is not divided by <br />transportation mode to submit to the TARPO. It is customary to prioritize all projects in one <br />list. Attachments 6 and 7 contain Orange County's prioritized lists submitted to the MPO and <br />RPO for the 2009-2015 TIP. Attachments 4 and 5 are draft proposals for prioritizing all <br />projects recommended by the OUTBoard into a single priority list to submit to the MPO and a <br />single priority list to submit to the TARPO. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no immediate financial impact associated with this item. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board: <br />1. Consider the recommendations of the Orange Unified Transportation Board. <br />2. Approve a Priority List to submit to the Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro Metropolitan <br />Planning Organization. <br />3. Approve a Priority List to submit to the Triangle Area Rural Planning Organization. <br />4. Endorse resolutions to submit priority projects to the DCHC MPO TAC and the TARPO <br />RTAC. <br />
