A memo from the Fire Marshal indicating what State Fire Codes would require/mandate
in terms of an improved fire lane. Specifically, would a paved fire lane be required.
Staff Comment: According to Mike Tapp, the State Fire Codes do not require a paved
fire lane. The fire lane must be improved to: `support the imposed loads of fire apparatus
and shall be surfaced so as to provide all weather driving capabilities'.
2. A letter from the Caldwell Fire Department indicating that it can provide fire and
emergency response services to the development.
Staff Comment: According to the letter submitted by the Caldwell Fire Department, it
can provide fire and emergency services to the development so long as the applicant
provides for a secondary water source as detailed by the Orange County Fire Marshal.
Please refer to Attachments Three (3) and Four (4), respectively, for the breakdown of this
information.
