pRA~ SCHOOL IMPACT FEES: Otu~oe Courm SCHOOLS <br />Orange County, North Carolina <br />MAXIMUM SUPPORTABLE IMPACT FEES FOR ORANGE COUNTY SCHOOLS <br />Figure 14 shows the schedule of maximum supportable impact fees for Orange County Schools. <br />The fees are calculated by multiplying the student generation rate for each housing type (shown <br />at the top of Figure 13) by the net capital cost per student for each type of school. Each <br />component is then added together to derive the total public school impact fee. <br />For example, for a single family detached unit, the elementary school portion of the fee is <br />calculated by multiplying the student generation rate of .168 by the net local capital cost per <br />elementary student of $21,316, which results in $3,581 per single family detached housing unit <br />for the elementary level. This is repeated for the other school levels. The three portions of the fee <br />are added together to calculate the total fee by type of residential unit (i.e., for single family <br />detached: $3,581 + $2,485 + $3,306 = $9,372.) <br />Figure 14.
