7 vE 184 MINUTES OF THE ORANGE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />March 11, 1969 <br />The Board of Commissioners for the County of Orange, North Carolina, met <br />in adjourned session at the Jack Tar Hotel, Durham, North Carolina at 6 P.M. <br />on Tuesday, March 11, 1969. <br />Members Present: Chairman Carl M. Smith and Commissioners Harvey D. Bennett, <br />William C. Ray, Henry S. Walker and Ira A. Ward. <br />Members Absent: Norte <br />. Dr. George Hyatt, Jr., Director of the Agricultural Extension Service; Dr. <br />W. G. Andrews, District Extension Chairman; and Dr. Foyle and Dr. Smith, members <br />of Dr. Hyatt's staff, were present to discuss with the Board the appointment of <br />a Chairman for the Orange County Agriculture Extension Service. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board said meeting <br />adjourned to meet again on Wednesday, March 12, 1969, at the residence of Commissioner <br />Henry S. Gattis, Acting Clerk <br />MINUTES OF THE ORANGE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />March 12, 1969 <br />The Board of Commissioners for the County of Orange, North Carolina, met <br />in adjourned session-at the residence of Commissioner Henry S. Walker, Hillsborough, <br />North Carolina at 8 P.M. on Wednesday, March 12, 1969. <br />Members Present: Chairman Carl M. Smith and Commissioners Harvey D. Bennett, <br />Henry S. Walker and Ira A. Ward. <br />Members Absent: Commissioner William C. Ray. <br />Discussion ensued relative to the election of a Chairman for the Orange County <br />Agriculture Extension Service. It was agreed that Commissioner Bennett and <br />Commissioner Walker would act as a committee to investigate the respective candidates <br />for this office. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board said meeting adjourned <br />to meet again on Tuesday, March 25, 1969, in the Courtroom of the Courthouse in <br />Hillsborough for the purpose of conducting a public hearing in conjunction with the <br />County Planning Board. <br />Carl M. This being duly advertised <br />public hearing for the County Planning Board and the County Board of Commissioners. <br />Members Present: Chairman Carl M. Smith and Commissioners William C. Ray, <br />Harvey D. Bennett, Henry S. Walker and Ira A. Ward. <br />Members Absent: None
