Assuring that employees are informed of the availability of the Orange County <br />Grievance Procedure and of the availability of confidential employee relations <br />counseling with Personnel staff. <br />10. Assuring that no retaliatory action occurs against an employee or applicant <br />who makes a complaint or raises a question of employment discrimination. <br />D. The Department Head <br />In addition to the responsibilities listed in Item NC, each department head is <br />responsible for: <br />1. Assuring that the equal employment opportunity policy and Affirmative <br />Action Plan are communicated to employees in the department. <br />2. Providing oversight and monitoring of equal employment opportunity, <br />including employment selection decisions, to assure that hiring, promotions <br />and all other employment practices and aspects of the employment elationship <br />with employees of the department are consistent with law and policy. <br />-7- <br />
