r <br />NOTICE OF A CITIZENS INFORMATIONAL WORKSHOP <br />FOR PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS <br />ON I-40 fROM I-85 IN ORANGE COUNTY <br />TO NC 147 IN DURHAM COUNTY <br />Project 8.1501601 I-3306 Orange/Durham Counties <br />3 <br />The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) will hold a Citizens <br />.Informational Workshop. on November 17, 1999, between the hours of 4:00 PM <br />and 7:00 PM in the Cafeteria of .Chapel Hill High School, .1709 High School <br />Road, Chapel. Hill. <br />The proposed project will widen I-40 to six lanes from I-85 in Orange County to <br />NC 147 (Buck Dean Freeway) in Durham County. Widening will take place in the <br />median:. No right-of--way acquisition is anticipated.. A workshop. for this project <br />.was held on April 19, 1999 in Durham County, and the local TAC requested that <br />a second workshop be held in Orange County. Comments from the. public will be <br />.used in the .preparation of the environmental document being developed for this <br />project. <br />NCDOT representatives will be available at the- workshop to answer.questions <br />and receive comments .relative to the proposed project. Information presented at <br />the workshop will be general. in nature: No detailed. plans are available at this <br />time.
