6 <br />In October 1993, Orange County began <br />operating six Solid Waste Convenience <br />Centers throughout the County, including <br />the site at High Rock Road. The High <br />Rock Road site was developed on <br />property owned by Carl Walters, Jr. The <br />County also holds a lease on property on <br />Saddle Club Road that was previously <br />proposed for use as a solid waste <br />convenience center. <br />TODAY <br /> <br />PROPQSED RELQCATION <br />QF THE <br />I~IGI~ RUCK <br />SOI..,ID V'VA~TE <br />CQNVENIENCE CENTER. <br />At the request of the property owner, Orange County is proposing to <br />relocate the existing Solid Waste Convenience Center approximately <br />1000 feet northwest on High Rock Road to a new site. The County is <br />proposing to lease an eight-acre parcel with one-acre used for the <br />actual convenience center. The leases on the existing site and the <br />Saddle Club Road site would be terminated following relocation to the <br />new site. <br />The .proposed relocation would allow Orange County to provide.. <br />improved, more efficient service to Convenience Center users, <br />including greater reuse and recycling <br />salvage shed and yard waste collection <br />would also provide improved traffic flow. <br />opportunities. such as a <br />area.
