MINUTES OF THE ORANGE COUNTY "Au :i,(6 <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />February 17, 1969 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Orange County met in special adjourned <br />session in the office of Commissioner Carl M. Smith in Chapel Hill at 4:00 P.M. <br />on Monday, February 17, 1969. <br />Members Present: Chairman Carl M. Smith and Commissioners Harvey D. Bennett, <br />William C. Ray, Henry S. Walker and Ira A. Ward. <br />Members Absent: None <br />Dr. W. G. Andrews, District Extension Chairman, was also present. <br />Chairman Smith read a letter of resignation from Mr. Ed Barnes, -County <br />Extension Chairman. Said resignation is to be effective February 28, 1969. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Bennett, seconded by Commissioner Walker, <br />it was moved and unanimously adopted that the resignation of Mr. Barnes be <br />accepted. <br />Dr. W. G. Andrews presented a candidate for the vacancy of County Extension <br />Chairman to be interviewed by the Board. <br />After the candidate was interviewed by the Board Dr. Andrews was reauested <br />to submit the names of additional candidates in order that the Board might have <br />a group from which to make a final selection. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board said meeting was <br />adjourned to meet again on Friday, February 21, 1969, at 4:00 P.M. in the <br />office of Commissioner Smith in Chapel Hill, N. Gattis, Acting Clerk <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br />MINUTES OF THE ORANGE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />February 21, 1969 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Orange County met in special adjourned <br />session at 4:00 P.M. on Friday, February 21, 1969, in the office of Commissioner <br />Carl M. Smith in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. <br />Members Present: Chairman Carl M. Smith and Commissioners Harvey D. Bennett, <br />William C. Ray, Henry S. Walker and Ira A. Ward. <br />Members Absent: None <br />The purpose of this meeting was to interview candidates for the position of <br />County Extension Chairman. <br />Dr, W. G. Andrews, District Extension Chairman, was present and presented <br />to the Board two additional candidates for the position of County Extension <br />Chairman. These candidates were interviewed by the Board. <br />The County Administrator reported to the Board the results of the bidding <br />for five (5) new cars for the County Sheriff's office. Two bids were received: <br />Yates Motor Company $7,710 and Ray Motor Company $8,520. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Bennett, seconded by Commissioner Walker, it was <br />moved and unanimously adopted, that the low bid submitted by Yates Motor Company <br />be accepted. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board said meeting was <br />adjourned. <br />Carl M.
