Resolution Authorizing the Disposal of Surplus Computers to Literacy Council <br />WHEREAS, the Orange County Board of Commissioners has the statutory authority to declare <br />as surplus items no longer of use in County operations; and <br />WHEREAS, Orange County Commissioners have a desire to assist adults in their quest for <br />literacy, and <br />WHEREAS, Orange County Literacy Council has agreed to place computers, which the County <br />may declare as surplus in areas which, will facilitate the literacy goal of the Orange County <br />Commissioners; <br />THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Orange County Board of Commissioners hereby <br />authorize the Director of Purchasing and Central Services to enter into negotiation with the <br />Literacy Council to establish a fair market value for a maximum of twenty (20) computers that <br />the County shall declare as surplus; and <br />BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Director of Purchasing and Central Services shall be authorized <br />by the Orange County Board of Commissioners to effect those requirements that may be <br />incidental to the legal disposal of surplus assets owned by Orange County; and <br />FUTHER BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Orange County Budget and Finance Directors be <br />authorized to execute budget amendments and accounting transactions that may be incidental <br />to the appropriation of funds for the Literacy Council to offset the cost of the surplus computers. <br />This resolved on the 7'~ day of December 1999. <br />Attest: <br />everly A.
