1 <br />2 <br />The action requested by the Board is as follows <br />• Declare up to 20 computers as surplus; and <br />• Authorize the Director of Purchasing and Central Services to enter into .negotiations with the <br />Literacy Council to establish the sale price and to carry out.legal requirements .incidental to <br />the disposal of public assets; and <br />• Authorize the Directors of Budget and Finance to take the appropriate budget and <br />accounting action to ensure a neutral revenue position for the Literacy Council in this <br />transaction. <br />The Literacy Council will be asked to provide the County with a list of locations where <br />computers will be placed. Up to 20 computers may be disposed of on a per justifiable request <br />basis. Computers must be used in direct service to the public to promote literacy in order for <br />the transfer to occur. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: None <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board: <br />• Declare up to 20 computers as surplus ;and <br />• Authorize the Director of Purchasing and Central Services to enter into negotiations with the <br />Literacy Council to establish the sale price and to carry out legal requirements incidental to <br />the disposal of public assets, and <br />• Authorize the Directors of Budget and Finance to take the appropriate budget and <br />accounting action to ensure a neutral revenue position for the Literacy Council in this <br />transaction <br />
