Moll . -;< !06 <br />December 23, 1968 <br />The Board of Commissioners for the County of Orange, North Carolina, met in <br />special session at the Courthouse in Hillsborough, North Carolina, the usual place <br />of meeting, at 11 o'clock A.M., on December 23, 1968. <br />Present: Chairman Carl M. Smith, and Commissioners William C. Ray and <br />Henry S. Walker. <br />Absent: Commissioners Harvey D. Bennett and Ira A. Ward. <br />At 11 o'clock A.M., the members of the Board of Commissioners for the County <br />of Orange received from the registrars and judges of election the returns of the <br />special bond election held on December 21, 1968, in the Dogwood Acres Sanitary <br />District. After said returns had been canvassed, Commissioner Walker introduced <br />the following resolution which was read: <br />RESOLUTION RELATING TO THE CANVASS- <br />ING OF THE RETURNS OF THE SPECIAL <br />BOND ELECTION HELD IN THE DOGWOOD <br />ACRES SANITARY DISTRICT ON DECEMBER <br />21, 1968 <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners for the County of Orange: <br />Section 1. The returns of the special bond election held on December 21, <br />1968, in the Dogwood Acres Sanitary District, Orange County, having been received <br />from the proper election officers and the Board having canvassed the same, the <br />following facts are hereby found and determined: <br />(a) Thnt at a special bond election held in Dogwood Acres Sanitary District <br />on December 21, 1968, there was submitted to the qualified registered voters of said <br />Dogwood Acres Sanitary District the following proposition: <br />Issuing not exceeding $100,000 Water Bonds <br />for the purpose of providing funds for the <br />construction of a water system for the Dog- <br />wood Acres Sanitary District, including <br />the installation of water mains and lines, as <br />authorized by a bond resolution adopted by <br />the Sanitary District Board of said District <br />on October 21, 1968, and the levy of a tax <br />for the payment thereof. <br />(b) That the Board believes that said election was conducted in full com- <br />pliance with law. <br />MINUTES OF THE ORANGE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />(c) That the following schedule correctly shows the location of the voting <br />place at which the election was held, the number of voters registered and qualified <br />to vote in the election and the number of votes cast for and against the pro- <br />position submitted: <br />Voting place <br />Mellott's Store <br />voters registered <br />and qualified to <br />vote <br />Proposition Submitted <br />Votes for Votes against <br />129 <br />84 32 <br />Section 2. At said election a majority of the qualified registered voters of <br />the Dogwood Acres Sanitary District who voted at said election voted for the approval <br />of the bond resolution adopted by the Sanitary District Board of the Dogwood Acres <br />Sanitary District on October 21, 1968, authorizing the issuing of not exceeding <br />$100,000 Water Bonds of said Sanitary District for the purpose of providing funds <br />for the construction of a water system for said District, including the installation <br />of water mains and lines, and the levy of a tax for the payment thereof. <br />Section 3. The Clerk of the Board of Commissioners be and she is hereby directed <br />to transmit a certified copy of this resolution to the Sanitary District Board of the <br />Dogwood Acres Sanitary District.. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Walker, seconded by Commissioner Ray, the foregoing <br />resolution entitled: RESOLUTION RELATING TO THE CANVASSING OF THE RETURNS OF THE <br />SPECIAL BOND ELECTION HELD IN THE DOGWOOD ACRES SANITARY DISTRICT ON DECEMBER 21, <br />1968" was passed by the following vote: <br />Ayes: Commissioners William C.
