Last fiscal year, the Orange County Health Department received funds to <br />implement a screening and referral system for high-risk populations.. Recently, the Department <br />received confirmation of a four-year continuation grant for the Syphilis Elimination Project. The <br />Board of County Commissioners accepted the continuation grant on November 17, 1999. In <br />addition, at that meeting, the Board approved a new permanent full-time equivalent Public Health <br />Educator position for the project. The attached Syphilis Elimination Grant Project Ordinance <br />establishes the budget of $43,000 for the current fiscal year. No County funds are required for the <br />receipt of these funds. <br />Amendments for Items Included in the 1999-09 Capital Investment Plan <br />Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools <br />2) The Board of County Commissioners approved the County's ten-year Capital Investment Plan on <br />June 21. While the funding plan as a whole was approved, the Board decided to change the <br />individual project approval process. <br />For projects that have a relatively small scope of work, the Board decided to approve the entire <br />project ordinance at one time..
