306K 7 PACE 156 <br />(3) The Planning Board recommended that section 6.2.2, relative to the death probe, <br />contained in subsection three and four of 6.2.2 be deleted from said Chanel Hill Township <br />Zoning Ordinance, <br />Unon motion of Commissioner Ray, it was seconded and unanimously adopted, that sub- <br />section three and four of section 6.2.2 be deleted from the Chapel Hill Township Zoning <br />Ordinance. <br />(4) The Planning Board recommended that the request from Lillie C. Freeland to <br />rezone twenty acres located on the Southwest side of intersection of Homestead Road and <br />N. C. 86 from a residential area to a general commercial district be approved. <br />Unon motion of Commissioner Bennett, seconded by Commissioner Ward, it was moved and <br />unanimously adopted, that the recommendation of the County Planning Board relative to the <br />rezoning of the twenty acres belonging to Lillie C, Freeland be approved. <br />Discussion ensued concerning Ambulance Service for Northern Orange County. <br />Unon motion of Commissioner Walker, seconded by Commissioner Ray, it was moved and <br />unanimously adopted, that the proposal as submitted by the Orange County Rescue Scuad, Inc. <br />to the Board of Commissioners for Ambulance Service to the Northern Orange County area be <br />accepted. <br />The County Administrator was requested to so inform the Draper official of the Orange <br />County Rescue Squad, Inc. of the action of the Board of Commissioners. <br />Erline Edwards, Vice President for the Orange County Welfare Union, was spokesman for <br />a group of union members and did request that Christmas grants of $10.00 Der child for <br />welfare recipient's children be granted this year. <br />Chairman Smith informed the group that such a request must first be presented to the <br />Welfare Board and that the Welfare Board in turn must make recommendations for said request. <br />Chairman Smith stated further that this was a budgetary matter and should have been presented <br />with the annual budgetary request in July. <br />Mrs. Evelyn Johnson, Member of the Welfare Union, read a petition in behalf of retaining <br />Mrs. Dee Gamble as the Community Service Consultant for Orange County. <br />C. W. Davis, of Route #3, Hillsborough, North Carolina, presented road petition for <br />secondary road #1179 and the clerk was authorized to forward same to the State Highway <br />Commission. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board the meeting adjourned to meet <br />again on Monday, December 16, 1966, for a public hearing in joint session with the County <br />Planning Board and on Monday, December 23, 1968, at 11 o'clock A.M. for the purpose of <br />canvassing the votes cast on December 21, 1968, for the Dogwood Acres Sanitary District <br />election. <br />Carl M. Smith, Chairman <br />Betty June Hayes, Clerk <br />MINUTES OF THE ORANGE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />December 16, 1968 <br />The Board of Commissioners for the County of Orange, North Carolina, met in joint <br />sessicn with the Orange County Planning Board on Monday, December 16, 1968, in the Courtroom <br />of the Courthouse in Hillsborough, North Carolina at 7:30 P.M. <br />Members Present: Commissioners Harvey D. Bennett, William C. Ray, Henry S. Walker and <br />Ira A. Ward. <br />Members Absent: Chairman Carl M. Smith. <br />This meeting was held for the purpose of conducting a public hearing relative to certain <br />amendments for the Chapel Hill Planning Ordinance and Man. <br />Commissioner Walker, Vice Chairman of the Board of Commissioners, declared the Dublic <br />hearing open and turned the meeting over to Charles Johnson, Chairman of the County Planning <br />Board for the purpose of conducting the nubile hearing. <br />The following memorandum was Dresented, but there was no action taken relative to <br />said memorandum: <br />"November 22, 1968 <br />TO: Orange County Planning Board <br />FROM: Mark Burnham <br />SUBJECT: Proposed Amendments to Orange County Zoning Ordinance
