He said that this could 10 also be discussed with the Town of Pittsboro and its Counal. 11 12 b. Jordan Lake -Coordinated Water Allocation and Planning 13 c. Jordan Lake Rules 14 Environment and Resource Conservation Director Dave Stanch said that he would speak 15 to these rules, but as of today they got word from the Division of Water Quality that there is a 16 ~ plan to take the Jordan Lake rules to the May 8'" meeting of the Environmental Management 17 Commission. He antiapates that those revised rules will be available in early April. 18 Chair Jacobs said that Orange County, Chapel Hill, and Chatham County have spoken 19 against these revised rules. Orange County also had some speafic concerns about how it 20 might affect some of the open space. Some of the requin:mer~ts imposed might make it more 21 difficult to pursue agriculture, especially in the rural buffer. 22 Chair Jacobs suggested that staff compile the similarities and differences of the 23 commenrts from these boards about the Jordan Lake rules, so that the differences could be 24 discussed, in the spirit of building partnerships. 25 26 d. Regional WaterNVatershed Protection Issues 27 Craig Benedict showed a map of the County with the Cape Fear basin. With these new 28 rules coming forwani, it is likely that Orange County will have to have additional land use 29 regulations. He said that it will be diffik:ult to achieve the 3596 reduction level that is being 30 proposed. 31 Chair Jacobs said that at the AOG, there will be a pn.sentation on the process and then: 32 will be discussion and direction for OWASA. 33 Mayor Foy verfied that the list of comments from each board on the Jordan Lake rules 34 would be written. February 19, 2008 Board of County Commissioners Resolution~upport for 43 a Piedmont Regional Share Use, Value-Added Food and Agricultural Processing Center 44 Chair Jacobs said that four counties, Whole Foods, and Weaver Street contributed to 45 doing a feasibility study n:garding this faality. The consultant did a nice job and made some 46 recommendations. A Commissioner from each of the four counties met to discuss the 47 recommendations. Alamance County passed a resolution indicating its support to continue. 48 Orange County's was on the blue sheet. The consultant identified the old Orange Enterprise 49 building in Hillsborough as the best location for this faafity. The Board agreed to set aside this 50 building for the facility.
