Senior Citizen Health <br />Promotion Program Grant <br />Project Ordinance <br />INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />Donna Coffey, (919) 245-2151 <br />PURPOSE: To approve budget and grant project ordinance amendments, and to amend the <br />County Fee Schedule for fiscal year 2008-09. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Department of Social Services <br />1. The Department of Social Services has received notification of additional funds for the <br />following programs: <br />• Additional Adoption Enhancement Fund donations <br />o Foster Care Donations - $10,695 to offset costs the on-going needs of foster <br />care children. <br />o General Assistance Donations - $186.80 to aid special-needs clients, <br />including senior citizens. <br />o Adoption Services Donations - $200 to offset the cost of adoption services. <br />• NC Safe Kids -Grant funds, from NC Safe Kids, totaling $800 to facilitate bicycle <br />safety events on behalf of the Orange County Safe Kids Coalition. The department <br />serves as the lead agency for the coalition, which members include the Sheriff's <br />Department. <br />This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these funds for the above stated <br />purposes. (See Attachment 1, columns #1 and #2) <br />
