1'0;h t race 1l i6 <br />Robert Page, Attorney for Spence & Lester Developers of the Colony Woods <br />Subdivision, presented plats of said subdivision and pointed out that the Durham- <br />Orange County line, as recently established, ran through a number of lots in the <br />subdivision. Mr. Page inquired whether or not there had been or would be an agreement <br />between Durham and Orange County relative to the taxation policy of the property <br />located in both counties. <br />The County Administrator advised Mr. Page that the problem of location of <br />property in both counties had been discussed with the Durham County Manager and <br />that an agreement of taxation policy would be signed and that Mr. Page will be <br />notified of the taxation policy once an agreement has been reached. <br />North Central Piedmont Resources Conservation <br />Commissioner Ray and G. A. Brown, representative of-the/and Development Program of <br />North Carolina. requested that the Board of Commissioners schedule a <br />district meeting for the Conservation and Development Committee members, Boards of <br />Commissioners and other interested agencies on Monday, November 25th in Hillsborough. <br />Mr. Brown was requested to see if the banks, the Building and Loan and Graham <br />Production Credit Association would assist and help sponsor the dinner and the meeting. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Ray, seconded by Commissioner Walker, it was moved <br />and unanimously adopted, that Orange County would be host on Monday, November 25, 1968 <br />to the Conservation and Development Committee members, Boards of Commissioners and <br />other interested agencies from the district and G. A. Brown was authorized to proceed <br />with the plans for said meeting. <br />The County Attorney presented the following resolution: <br />Commissioner Ward introducted the following resolution which was read: <br />RESOLUTION CALLING A SPECIAL BOND <br />ELECTION IN DOGWOOD ACRES SANITARY <br />DISTRICT <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners for the County of Orange: <br />Section 1. The Board of Commissioners has determined and does hereby find and <br />declare that it has received certified copies of two resolutions passed by the <br />Sanitary District Board of the Dogwood Acres Sanitary District on October 21, 1968, <br />entitled: <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING $100,000 WATER BONDS <br />OF DOGWOOD ACRES SANITARY DISTRICT, AND <br />RESOLUTION DIRECTING THE SECRETARY OF THE <br />SANITARY DISTRICT BOARD TO PUBLISH THE BOND <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING $100,000 WATER BONDS <br />OF DOGWOOD ACRES SANITARY DISTRICT, AND <br />REQUESTING THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR THE <br />COUNTY OF ORANGE TO CALL AN ELECTION UPON THE <br />ISSUANCE OF THE BONDS AUTHORIZED THEREBY. <br />Section 2. A special bond election is hereby ordered to be held in the Dogwood <br />Acres Sanitary District, in OrangeCounty, North Carolina, on Saturday, December 21, <br />1968, between 6:30 A.M. and 6:30 P.M., at which there shall be submitted to the <br />qualified registered voters of said Dogwood Acres Sanitary District the following <br />proposition: <br />Issuing not exceeding $100,000 Water Bonds <br />for the purpose of providing funds for the <br />construction of a water system for the Dog- <br />wood Acres District, including the installation <br />of water mains and lines, as authorized by a <br />bond resolution adopted by the Sanitary District <br />Board of said District on October 21, 1968, and <br />the levy of a tax for the payment thereof. <br />Section 3. There shall be a new registration of voters for said election, the <br />books for such new registration to be open from 9:00 A.M. until sunset on each day <br />beginning Saturday, November 23, 1968, and ending Saturday, December 7, 1968. On <br />each Saturday during such period said books shall be kept open at the voting place. <br />Saturday, December l4, 1968, shall be Challenge Day. <br />Section 4. Notice of said election and new registration shall be published <br />once a week for three successive weeks, the first publication to be at least thirty <br />(30) days before the close of the registration books, in The Chapel Hill Weekly, a <br />newspaper published in Oran ge County and circulating in said District, which notice <br />shall be in substantially the following form:
