MINUTES OF THE ORANGE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />November 4, 1968 <br />NON r,,6c !'15 <br />The Board of Commissioners for the County of Orange, North Carolina, met in <br />regular session, at the Agricultural Building in Hillsborough, North Carolina, at <br />10:00 o'clock A.M., on November 4, 1968. <br />Members Present: Chairman Harvey D. Bennett, and Commissioners William C. <br />Ray, Carl M. Smith,-Henry Walker and Ira A. Ward. <br />Members Absent: None <br />Minutes read and approved. <br />Norman Long, Zoning Officer, and Tyson Clayton presented the following <br />recommendations from the County Planning Board: <br />That the request of Paul Blair for the extension of his existing mobile <br />home park be approved. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Ward, seconded by Commissioner Ray, it was moved <br />and unanimously adopted, that the recommendation of the County Planning Board <br />relative to the request of Paul Blair be approved. <br />That the request of Brach Pearson to establish a mobile home park be <br />approved. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Ray, seconded by Commissioner Walker, it was <br />moved and unanimously adopted that the Board of Commissioners take no action on <br />the recommendation relative to Mr. Pearson's request until further study is <br />made into the matter. <br />That the recommendation relative to Hickory Forest Subdivision be accepted <br />upon the receipt of a final plat of said subdivision. <br />No action was taken on this recommendation. <br />Chairman Bennett was authorized to sign the following Blind Aid Grants: <br />AID TO THE BLIND AGENDA <br />November 4, 1968 <br />NAME EFF. Sykes 76.00 <br />Julia Fisher 180.00 <br />Roger L. Marshall, Chairman of Board of Education,requested that the Sheriff <br />of the county be authorized by the Board of Commissioners to station deputies in <br />the halls of Orange High School for as long as this action is necessary. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Ray, seconded by Commissioner Walker, it was <br />moved and unanimously adopted that the Board of Commissioners grant the request <br />of the Board of Education in requesting the Sheriff of Orange County to dispurse <br />to Orange High School as many deputies as he has available to help maintain <br />order within the school building.
