• Wrecked "practice vehicles" remain in the crowded parking lot for months <br />at a time, and extrication training has taken place in the bay causing an <br />excess of carbon monoxide and other fumes to seep into the EMS living <br />area. <br />• Members or employees of the squad bring children to the building. These <br />children are there as late as 11:30 pm. <br />• As recently as April 3, 2008 crews reported that children were running up <br />and down the stairs of Station 1 unattended. <br />• Members often bring significant others and children to the station when <br />responding to rescue calls. These visitors are left in the building until late <br />in the night while the member responds to the call, EMS crews attempt to <br />sleep or leave their personal items unprotected. <br />• The front door will not shut nor secure properly and has only been <br />repaired within the past few weeks. As recently as March 2008, a <br />community member walked into the station without the knowledge of the <br />crew. <br />• On April 29, 2008, while spreading gravel out back, members of the squad <br />began horse playing and yelling out obscenities. On this day, there was a <br />large number of people going in and out, then up and down the steps <br />slamming doors. Members of Orange County EMS did not recognize <br />these people as squad members. Doors were left open throughout this <br />day. <br />• Members are parking cars in the parking lot leaving OCES emergency <br />vehicles little to no room to park. <br />• The noise level created by OCRS members is increasing. The noise level <br />is creating a hostile work environment for OCES staff. <br />• Dirty OCRS underwear is scattered throughout the station. <br />• There has been trash left out in the parking lot, the bay, the bathrooms, <br />and the dayroom after OCES staff has completed daily cleanup. <br />• June 2008: OCRS members pulled vehicles out of the bays to create a <br />wrestling ring for horseplay. <br />7 <br />
