There are some fundamental questions to answer as Chatham <br />Courrty is growing. <br />6. Joint Planning <br />Planning Director Craig Benedict said that the Managers and Planning Directors have <br />met a few times since the last joint meeting to discuss who could be involved in joint planning, <br />the topics of interest, etc. He reviewed the handout, as shown below: <br />Joint Planning <br />1. Who should work on this? Orange and Chatham County Planners can take the lead to initiate <br />the program. <br />3. Methods of Sharing Information among Governments <br />Bi-Monthly Staff Meetings- Planners meet and/or conference call on a Bi-monthly basis. <br />Discussions include primarily two areas; <br />• sharing of planning concepts and possible coordinated government efforts <br />• discussion of developments, projects and the respective impacts. Other department staff <br />may also attend depending on the topic. <br />Shared Website- Orange County Planning will be asking County Information Tech Department <br />if there is a host website that can house updates from multiple jurisdictions. Reports will be <br />posted regarding meeting topics. <br />Development Updates- Development activity and proposals will be posted in a timelier manner <br />and adjacent GIS can forward my email to everyone for comment <br />Special Work Groups- If government staff is meeting or directed to meet on a particular topic <br />(i.e. UNC transportation-park and ride, Jordan like Intake, parks). A briefing of the meeting and <br />participants will be included on the website. <br />Tiered Priorities/Vllhat Topics? At this time planners are not proposing thresholds of <br />review~mpact or specific-areas of information exchange but a pilot program to share growth <br />management information. <br />
