Development PUBLIC HEARING: (Y/N) No <br />ATTACHMENT(S): INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />Bid Results; Work Specifications Tara L. Fikes, 245-2490 <br />PURPOSE: To award a housing rehabilitation contract for the Orange County HOME Program <br />Housing Rehabilitation Program. <br />BACKGROUND: The Housing and Community Development Department solicited bids from <br />qualified housing rehabilitation contractors participating in the County's Housing Rehabilitation <br />Program for the general repair portion of the work specifications. <br />The informal bidding process is governed by the North Carolina General Statues §143-131 and <br />does not require a minimum number of bids. Additionally, present program procedures provide <br />that housing rehabilitation contracts be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder. Additionally, <br />all contractors participating in the County's Rehabilitation Program are required to utilize current <br />deconstruction and material recycling methods during the repair process. <br />Bids were solicited from participating contractors for the housing repair work and the bid results <br />are attached. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: Funds are provided by the HOME Investment Partnership Program. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board award the following <br />housing rehabilitation contract: <br />Dwelling Unit Bid Amount Contractor <br />4502 Mill Creek Rd., Mebane $46,683 Wheeler Contracting <br />
