Orange County NC Website
i ~o
County Engineering and also to Mr. Kenny Keel, the Town's Utility Director and Engineer. All
three individuals are licensed Professional Engineers in North Carolina and are well informed
with respect to the issue. All three individuals have told me that the value for Lake Orange's Net
Safe Yield of 1.0 MG per day appears appropriate to them given their understanding of Lake
Orange's characteristics (including reduction of effective watershed during periods of no or low
precipitation), aswell asthe assumptions and methodology that i used, which were also used for
the WFER by the Wooten Company of Raleigh, NC. That company was contracted by the Town
of Hillsborough to design and analyze the WFER.
Please feel free to contact me at 919-732-9744 if you or one of your staff would like to discuss
this further or go through the analysis detail.
Sincerely,
en Terlep
