Please explain more thoroughly and clearly and <br />ensure map is consistent with text. <br />p.5- i 4 thru 5- l 7 (The Future Land Use Plan) . <br />This section should state that there are no true mixed-use land use categories and whether this is <br />something that the County will address. <br />p.5-15, -ine 1 (fhe Future Land Use P-an) <br />Developed Land Use Categories -Proposed Urban Activity Node. <br />Please state why there no proposed activity nodes in Hillsborough, Mebane, or Orange County. <br />p.5- I6 (The Future Land Use Plan) <br />Under Rural Land Use Categories add the following: <br />"Rural Village Node <br />Land located around designated road intersections available for compact, walkable, mixed <br />commercial & residential development served by small-scale community water & wastewater <br />technology that meets adopted guidelines for oversight & maintenance." <br />p.5-21, -ine 3 (The Future land Use Plan) <br />Please state what spurred the creation of EDDs. <br />p.5-21, Section 5.4 (Historic Data, Current Data, Evaluation of Trends) <br />Include the following from Appendix A in this section: <br />"Sixty percent of the labor force lives and works in Orange County. The remaining 40% <br />commute to other counties for employment. Likewise, 40% of Orange County's labor force <br />commutes in from other counties." <br />Include as well data about the types of jobs & median wages found in each cohort -the group commuting <br />in and the one commuting out. <br />We need more detailed information in order to be able to address issues associated with this condition, <br />including: <br />1) the carbon emissions and air quality associated with high vehicle miles traveled; <br />2) the need for recruitment of jobs for which our residents are qualified; <br />3) the need to provide housing affordable for the full spectrum ofwages-being paid for various kinds of <br />jobs in the County. <br />p.5-22, Section 5.4, lines 9-11 (Historic Data...) <br />Clarify that "growth" in the context of the townships refers to POPULATION growth. Please also state <br />rate of land conversion (growth in developed acreage) in as much detail (e.g., township level) as possible, <br />separating out data for unincorporated areas whenever possible. <br />p.5-27, lines 21-25 (Population Projections) <br />The last bullet should be phrased more clearly to make the point it seems to be getting at: The <br />incorporated areas are growing in population at a faster rate than the unincorporated areas.
