Gordon Battle Courtroom in Hillsborough, N.C. <br />12 <br />13 COUNTY COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chair Barry Jacobs and Commissioners Valerie <br />14 Foushee, Alice M. Gordon, and Mike Nelson <br />15 COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Moses Carey, Jr. <br />16 COUNTY ATTORNEY PRESENT: Geof Gledhill <br />17 COUNTY STAFF PRESENT: Assistant County Manager Willie Best and Deputy Clerk to <br />18 the Board David Hunt (All other staff members will be identified appropriately below) <br />19 PLANNING BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Chair Jay Bryan and Members Craufurd <br />20 Goodwin, Renee Price, Judith Wegner, Michelle Kempinski, Bernadette Pelissier, and Lary <br />21 Wright <br />22 PLANNING BOARD MEMBERS ABSENT: Jeffrey Schmitt, Joel Knight, and Brian <br />23 Crawford <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 The meeting was called to order at 7:37 pm. <br />27 <br />28 A. OPENING REMARKS FROM THE CHAIRS - Barry Jacobs and PB Chair Jay Bryan <br />29 Jay Bryan welcomed everyone. <br />30 Chair Jacobs made reference to the special use permit. <br />31 Jay Bryan said that, due to an oversight regarding a notice, which is a legal requirement <br />32 for such matters, the special use permit will be postponed to a later meeting for a public hearing. <br />33 Geof Gledhill said that the County Commissioners would reschedule this public hearing <br />34 and there would be proper notice given far enough in advance. <br />35 Chair Jacobs said that if residents live within the area, they will get a written, official <br />36 notice from the County. If any residents are concerned that they might not get a notice, then <br />37 they should give their contact information to the Clerk. <br />38 <br />39 B. PUBLIC CHARGE <br />40 The Board of Commissioners pledges to the citizens of Orange County its respect. The <br />41 Board asks its citizens to conduct themselves in a respectful, courteous manner, both with the <br />42 Board and with fellow citizens. At any time should any member of the Board or any citizen fail <br />43 to observe this public charge, the Chair will ask the offending member to leave the meeting until <br />44 that individual regains personal control. Should decorum fail to be restored, the Chair will <br />45 recess the meeting until such time that a genuine commitment to this public charge is observed. <br />46 All electronic devices such as cell phones, pagers, and computers should please be turned off <br />47 or set to silenttvibrate. <br />48 <br />49 C.
