Recently, the Department on Aging, the Friends of the Chapel Hill Senior Center and the <br />Herald Sun entered into an arrangement for editing the Senior Times. A temporary <br />employee in the Department on Aging will edit the Times. In turn, the Herald Sun and the <br />Friends will reimburse the Department on Aging for all costs associated with this <br />arrangement. This budget amendment provides for reimbursement from the Herald Sun <br />($6,400) and the Friends ($3,334). No county funds are associated with this amendment <br />(see Attachment 1, column 1 of this abstract). <br />Health Department <br />2. The Health Department has received increases for the Smart Start grant funded programs <br />operated by the Department. The increases allow for salary adjustments approved by the <br />Board of Commissioners during the budget process last spring. The table below <br />summarizes the amounts by individual programs within the Smart Start Grant Project <br />Ordinance. <br />
