The property consists of approximately 6,000 square feet, <br />with approximately 2,000 square feet in warehouse space. The property is being purchased <br />for $346,000 with owner financing far 59 months at 6% interest. <br />The offices of the Department of Purchasing and Central Services will be relocated to this site <br />following completion of renovation work. Offices are currently located in leased space at 132 <br />East King in the Sprint Telephone building. <br />Further, the Board is requested to exempt this project from the statute requiring the announcing <br />of all requirements for architectural, engineering and survey services and the statutory selection <br />process for the reason that time does not permit the announcing and selection process required <br />by the statutes. Local governments are allowed to exempt themselves from this process per <br />G.S. 143-64.31 and G.S. 143-64.32. <br />
