K"K 7 rnE 108 <br />Chairman Bennett inquired of Mr. Alley as to the status of the Orange-Alamance <br />Water System progress. The Board was advised that the water line for said water <br />system project was now being laid eastward from Mebane to the filter plant. <br />The following road petitions were presented and the clerk was requested to <br />forward same to the State Highway Commission along with an inquiry relative to a <br />road designated as Piney Mountain road or SR ##1751, SR x#1573 and Windwood Sub- <br />division - all roads. <br />Chairman Bennett read a letter which had been received from the caseworkers <br />of the Orange County Welfare Department. The letter informed the Board of their <br />opposition to certain proposals which were being suggested by the State Welfare Board. <br />The County Adminiatrator, the;County Attorney and Dr, O.,.David Garvin, District <br />Health officer were instructed to investigate and make recommendations relative to <br />a garbage disposal ordinance. <br />Chairman Bennett read a letter from the State Department of Welfare which <br />stated that the term of Elizabeth Ellis on the State Welfare Board would expire on <br />June 30, 1968. Discussion ensued concerning the re-appointment of Mrs. Ellis as <br />the policy which does not allow anyone to serve more than a two, three year term <br />on the State Welfare Board could affect Mrs. Ellis' appointment. This matter was <br />deferred. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Smith, seconded by Commissioner Ward, Dr. Harold <br />Roberts was re-appointed to the County Board of Adjustments. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Smith, seconded by Commissioner Ray, the following <br />resolution was adopted by unanimous vote. <br />"BE IT RESOLVED that effective January 1, 1968 the following items shall be <br />included in the list of recorded documents in the Office of the Register of Deeds and <br />that the fees therefor shall be a minimum of two dollars ($2.00) per page and one <br />dollar ($1.00) for each additional page: Corporate Charters, Suspension of Corporate <br />Charters, Amendments to Corporate Charters, Reinstatement of Corporate Charters, <br />Change of Address of the Registered Agent of any Corporation, Liquidation and or <br />Dissolution certificates of Corporate Charters, Assumed Names or Partnership certificates <br />and any relating document. <br />Mark Burnham, member of the County Planning Board and Tyson Clayton, Zoning <br />officer, submitted the following recommendations concerning the rezoning request <br />heard at the public hearing held on Mareh.26, 1968: <br />The Planning Board recommends that Fred Crabtree's request to rezone two acres <br />of his property from a residential district to a rural commercial district be approved. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Ray, seconded by Commissioner Walker, it was roved <br />and unanimously adopted that the Planning Boards recommendation that Fred Crabtree's <br />request to rezone two acres of his property from a residential district to a rural <br />commercial district be approved. <br />The Planning Board recommends that Forrest Heath's request to rezone his property <br />from a residential district to a Mobile Home Park district be denied. Discussion <br />ensued relative to Mr. Heath's request and the deliberations of the Planning Board. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Smith, seconded by Commissioner Walker, it was moved <br />and unanimously adopted that Mr. Heath's request be referred back to the County Planning <br />Board. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Ray, seconded by Commissioner Smith and unanimously <br />adopted, Chairman Bennett was authorized to sign the following Blind Aid Agenda: <br />AID TO THE BLIND AGENDA <br />April 1, 1968 <br />Name Eff.
