ORANGE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br />Meeting Date: September 5, 2000 <br />Action Agenda <br />Item No. ~-1 <br />SUBJECT: Cooperative_Agreement With HUD for Fiscal Year 2000-2001 <br />DEPARTMENT: Human Rights and Relations PUBLIC HEARING: (Y/N) No <br />ATTACHMENT(S): INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />Annette Moore, ext. 2254 <br />Cover Letter, Cooperative Agreement, ~ <br />Supporting Materials TELEPHONE NUMBERS: <br />Hillsborough 732-8181 <br />Chapel Hill 968-4501 <br />Durham 688-7331 <br />Mebane 336-227-2031 <br />PURPOSE: To approve a Cooperative Agreement Between Orange County and the United <br />States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for services performed during <br />the FFY 2000-2001. <br />BACKGROUND: On September 29, 1998, the Board of Commissioners approved a <br />Cooperative Agreement with HUD for the period beginning the first (1~) day of October 199$ to <br />the thirtieth (30'") day of September 1999. HUD proposes a new Worksharing Agreement to <br />cover the FY 2000. For FY 2000, HRR will received $1800 per case for cases processed <br />during the period July 1, 1999 through June 30, 2000. The Department will also receive funds <br />for administrative costs, education and outreach and training. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: HUD proposes that the Human Relation Commission receive $65,100. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board approve the Cooperative <br />Agreement and authorize the Chair to sign the agreement. <br />
