:'K 7 PAGE 100 <br />Chairman Bennett read a letter from B. B. Olive, attorney, relative to his <br />petition for the reclassification of New Hope Creek. It was agreed that a meeting <br />with Mr. Olive should be scheduled for Tuesday, March 5, 1968. <br />A. H. Graham, County Attorney, informed the Board that all papers <br />presented by the Dogwood Acres Sanitary District had been filed with the State <br />Board of Health and that the State Board of Health had ruled that certain free- <br />holders, who had signed the original petition, had moved from the community <br />and for this reason the necessary percentage of current freeholders signatures <br />did not meet the percentage recuirements. Mr. Graham stated further that the <br />State Board of Health reauested that a new petition be filed and also expressed <br />their intentions of being active in the planning, presentation and public <br />hearings of the proposed project. A steering committee from the area and <br />representatives of the State Board of Health were planning a meeting for Tuesday, <br />March 5, 1968. <br />Paul Alston, coordinator for OEO, was present and presented to the Board <br />a statement of intent which would designate the Community Action Agency as the <br />agency through which OEO funds on the local level would be administered. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Ward, seconded by Commissioner Walker, it <br />was moved and adopted that Chairman Bennett execute form CP-69 which designated <br />the Community Action Agency in conjunction with Chatham County as the agency <br />to administer OEO funds. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Ray, seconded by Commissioner Walker, Chairman <br />Bennett was authorized to sign the following Blind Aid Grants: <br />NAME EFF. Sec. benefits <br />Increase in Social Security <br />benefits <br />Increase in OASI benefits <br />Increase in OASI benefits <br />Increased social security benefits <br />Discussion ensued concerning the water line agreement between Orange <br />County and the Town of Mebane and it was the opinion of the Board that no <br />one should be allowed to tap the water line until consent is secured from <br />the County of Orange. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Ray, seconded by Commissioner Ward, the County <br />Attorney, was authorized to write the Town of Mebane a letter of consent, relative <br />to tao fees and relative to the monetary division of these fees. It was further <br />agreed that said tan fees should be kept within a reasonable limit and that the <br />portion received by the Town of Mebane should be applied to the indebtedness <br />due Orange County. <br />UDon motion of Commissioner Ray, seconded by Commissioner Walker, it was <br />moved and adopted, that the County Attorney prepare a Fee Ordinance for <br />Ambulance Service. <br />Commissioner Ward reported on the progress being made by the Mental Health <br />Authority. He stated that Dr. 0. David Garvin had been appointed as an ex-officio <br />member of this committee. <br />Commissioner Ward presented the names of the following persons who would <br />be asked to serve on the Citizens Advisory Committee of the Mental Health <br />Authority.
