2 <br />ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />Proclamation of September, 2000 as United Way Month <br />WHEREAS it is the mission of the Triangle United Way to "increase the organized <br />capacity of people to caze for one another"; and <br />WHEREAS United Way funds health and human service programs in 28 Orange County <br />organizations; and <br />WHEREAS Orange County residents raised more than $1.2 million during the 1999 <br />United Way Campaign to meet the needs of their neighbors; and <br />WHEREAS community support of the United Way really is the best way to do the most <br />good in the lives of those in Orange who really need help; and <br />WHEREAS it is evident that Orange County is a caring community, much like a family; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, we the Orange County Boazd of Commissioners proclaim <br />September to be United Way month in Orange County and urge citizens to <br />join in and actively participate in the United Way campaign and all of its <br />activities to continue making a difference in the lives of Orange County <br />citizens. <br />This is the 15~' day of August, 2000. <br />Moses Cazey, Jr., Chair <br />Orange County Boazd of Commissioners <br />
