Prior to the notice being <br />advertised in mid August, staff will advertise an open house on July 12, 2000 to discuss <br />a variety of comprehensive planning issues including, but not limited to, Upper Eno <br />watershed planning and Neuse River rules. The next regular quarterly public hearing is <br />scheduled. for August 28, 2000. A summary of each item proposed for public hearing is <br />provided. The text of specific changes will be sent to the BOCC approximately August <br />14, 2000 and staff will be available for questions prior to the public hearing. <br />Requests• <br />U er Eno Watershed Densit Amendments <br />• Promotes water quality protection issues in the Upper Eno Watershed <br />• Starts the process of complying with the State-mandated Neuse River Basin Rules <br />• Proposes watershed rules similar to those in the Cane Creek and University Lake <br />Watersheds <br />• Amends the transition areas for the Buckhom Economic Development District <br />• Special meeting with Planning Board will start the Public Information Process <br />Stream Buffer Amendments <br />• Clarify the calculation section of the stream buffer section <br />• Clarify the minimum stream buffer width and specify the location from which the stream <br />buffer shall measured <br />• Set minimum buildable areas on lots encumbered by stream buffers or conservation <br />easements <br />
