32 <br />1 Mark O'Neal, with Pickett Sprouse Real Estate, said that plus or minus 500 cars based on a <br />2 4,000 traffic count per day would require a turn lane. Also, a subdivision with over 50 lots <br />3 would require a turn lane. NCDOT's traffic count in 1997 on Jones Ferry Road is 4,300 trips per <br />4 day. " <br />6 MOTION: McAdams moved to accept the Preliminary Plan for The <br />7 Woodlands subdivision as recommended by the staff. Seconded <br />8 by Barrows. <br />10 VOTE: Ayes, 4; Noes, 4 (Selkirk, Gooding -Ray, Strayhorn, Allison) <br />11 Strayhorn and Selkirk felt that a turn lane is not needed. <br />12 Gooding -Ray also felt that a turn lane is not needed. She added <br />13 that the number of lots does not warrant a turn lane, although it <br />14 might become necessary in the future, as there is more <br />15 development.
