MINUTES OF THE ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIOITTMS December 18, 1967 BC1K 7 F1GE 87 The Board of County Commissioners of Orange County met in the office of Commissioner Smith in Chapel Hill on Monday, December 18, 1967 at 7:30 p.m. In special session. Members Present: Chairman Harvey D. Bennett and Commissioners William C. Ray, Carl M. Smith, Henry S. Walker and Ira A. Ward. Members Absent: None The following letter from Walker's Funeral Home was presented: "December 14, 1967 Graham, Levings & Cheshire Hillsborough, N. C. Attention: Mr. Lucius M. Cheshire Gentlemen: Your offer of $25,000.00 to operate ambulance service in Orange County for calendar year 1968 is unacceptable to us. No other proposal will be acceptable to us." This meeting was held for the purpose of discussing with Gene Clark, representative of Ambulance Services, Inc., the possibility of Orange County contracting with said company for ambulance service in the County. Mr. Clark informed the Board of the t e of services he could offer and further advised them that his fee would be 31,685.00 plus any fees collected from the individuals who used the ambulance service. Discussion ensued concerning said proposal and it was agreed that the County Administrator should request the County Attorney to draw a contract for ambulance service between orange County and Ambulance Services, Inc. This contract is to be presented for the Boards approval on Tuesday, January 2, 1968. Bennett, Chairman ------------------------ MINUTES OF TEE ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS December 28, 1967 The Board of Commissioners of Orange County met in the courtroom at the courthouse in Hillsborough at 7:30 p.m, on Thursday, December 28, 1967 in special session. Members Present: Chairman Harvey D. Bennett, and Commissioners William C. Ray, Carl M. Smith, Henry S. Walker and Ira A. Ward. Members Absent: None Members of the County Planning Board were present in order that amendments to the Chapel Hill Township Zoning Ordinance might be discussed at this public hearing. Chairman Bennett turned the chair over to Dr. C. T. Kaylor, Chairman of the Orange County Planning Board, in order that Dr. Kaylor might conduct said public hearing. For reference to proceedings and actions of this public hearing consult the minutes of the Orange County Planning Board. Dr. Kaylor, Chairman for the public hearing, turned the chair back to Chairman Bennett.
