48
- If the Parks Council is involved in recommending parks that include
preservation of natural., or other environmentally-sensitive areas,
the Commission for the Environment would like to be consulted and
involved . in the decision process. In particular, the Commission
would like to be ~ involved in the design of the park (i.e., access,
facilities, etc.) so that careful consideration is given to limiting
access to significant. natural areas, as well as commenting on other
environmental considerations.
- The Commission for the Environment wishes to continue to reserve
the right to recommend and advise. the Board of Commissioners on
preservation and acquisition of important natural areas, wildlife
habitat and riparian buffers, whether within or outside of a park
concept.
Thank you for the opportunity to review and comment on this excellent
report.
s:
.
~..
i
~.
Copies: John Link, County Manager
David Stancil, ERC Director
