Site Visits and Primary Contact: <br />Sites visited included those described in Keane's Assessment Report and having <br />working systems in North Carolina Counties, specifically: <br />Durham County, Durham, N.C. -Willie Covington, Register of Deeds <br />(Hart Information System -system in service for three months.) <br />Wake County, Raleigh, N.C. -Laura Reddick, Register of Deeds <br />(Universal Systems Inc. -system in service for three months.) <br />Watauga County, Boone, N.C. -Wanda Scott, Register of Deeds <br />(Mackin System -system in service for one year.) <br />2.1.4 Identify and Evaluate Viable Options <br />This step consisted in judging the alternatives in light of the criteria we had established. <br />also applied experience to extrapolate findings to the environment at Orange County in <br />terms of needs and resources. Conclusions are presented below. <br />2.1.5 Review Tentative Conclusions with Operations, IS, Procurement, and <br />Management <br />After forming my tentative conclusions, I reviewed them with Dick Taylor for <br />compatibility with the IS guidelines for current and future technology for the County. I <br />also discussed the ramifications for operations with Joyce Pearson. I followed up with a <br />meeting with Joyce, Dick, Pam Jones and Rod Visser to explore the procurement and <br />business issues.
