so <br />III. PRIVATE WELLS. <br />ASC will hire a well expert to analyze wells that are problematic, if <br />requested to do so by the homeowner, for all existing homes within the area <br />shown on Exhibit 2. The well expert will be selected by the homeowner from a <br />list approved by ASC and. OWASA after consultation with the County Health <br />Department. If problems are detected, ASC will assist the homeowner with the <br />cost of repair or improvement based on the following guidelines: <br />., (a) If that expert determines that the problem more likely than not is the <br />result of or made worse by the activities of ASC, ASC will pay the <br />full cost of repair. <br />(b) If the expert determines that the problem is more likely than not <br />unrelated to the activities of ASC and the well existed prior to 1978, <br />the year in which current quarry operations commenced, then ASC <br />will pay '/4 of the cost of the repairs, OWASA will pay '/4 of the cost <br />of repairs and the owner will pay'/z the cost of the repairs. <br />CAQE wants:the'date requueriient (197$)w;errioved. <br />~. <br />The purpose of this provision is to work towazd a goal of good water far <br />homeowners in the defined area, but not to seek a better quality of water for these <br />residents than is generally available to other well owners in Orange County.
