I <br />INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS <br />1. It is intended that the Contractor shall furnish j' <br />complete equipment and dot all the work' .necessary; to <br />complete such contract as may be entered into. <br />2. A. All bids must be upon the blank forms here- u <br />with provided. <br />b. Prices shall be given both in writing and <br />in figures. <br />c. Place of residence of each bidder should be <br />given after his signature. <br />d. When firms bid the name of each member shall <br />be signed and the firm name added. <br />e. When corporations bid the proposal must be <br />signed and sealed by its proper officers in <br />a legal manner. <br />3. Bids should be enclosed in a sealed envelope <br />directed to the Board of Commissioners, Orange County, <br />N. C., and should be marked "proposal for Lake Orange <br />Dam." <br />4.. Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified <br />check or bid bond for not less than five per cent of the <br />amount of bid, made payable to the Orange County, N. C., <br />the check or bid bond to be returned to the bidder unless <br />he fails to execute the contract should it be awarded to <br />him. <br />S. Bidders are cautioned not to submit their bids <br />until the proposed location, as well as the plans, <br />specifications, form of contract, etc., have been carefully <br />examined by them. <br />6. The estimated quantities are approximate only, <br />to be used for making comparison of bids, and are not <br />Y guaranteed. The Board reserves the right to increase or T <br />decrease the quantities by 25% without any change in unit I <br />prices. <br />7. The Contractor is required to protect the Board ' <br />from any and all claims for the use or infringement of 1 <br />patents. <br />8.
