Contractors are notified that "An Act to Regulate the Practice of General Contracting," ratified by the General Assembly of North Carolina on March 10, 1925, and subsequent amencments, will be observed in receiving and awarding contracts. A certified check, drawn on some bank Or trust company insured.by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and made payable to Orange County, N. C., in the amount of 5% of the amount of the bid must accompany each proposal. In lieu of a certified check, a bidder may offer a bid bond for 5% of the amount of the bid. A performance bond in the amount of 100% Of the contract price will be required, conditioned upon the faithful performance of the contract and upon the payment of all persons supplying labor and furnishing materials for the construction of the project. C., and copies of the same can be secured upon application to the Engineers upon payment of a deposit of $25.00. The award of the contract shall be conditioned upon funds being made available for such construction and upon the Board of Commissioners having the right to hold the bids for a period of 15 days from the date of opening bids, unless otherwise required by law. The right is reserved to reject any and all bids, and to accept the bid most favorable to orange County, N. C., in the discretion of the board of Commissioners.
