BOOK 7 PAGE 11 <br />MINUTES Or THE ORANGE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />July 25, 1967 <br />The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in adjourned session <br />on Tuesday, July 25, 1967 at eight o'clock p..m, in the Community Room <br />of Orange Savings & Loan Association building in Chapel Hill, N. C. <br />Members Present: Chairman Harvey D. Bennett and Commissioners <br />William C. Ray, Carl M. Smith, Henry S. Walker and Ira A. Ward. <br />Members Absent: None <br />Thomas Rose and John Pridgen, Engineers for the Lake Orange Project, <br />and Pearson Stewart and Harry Palmer, representatives of the Research <br />Regional Planning Commission were present. <br />Discussion ensued relative to the possibility of other uses applicable, <br />other than water source supply, for Lake Orange. It was agreed that no <br />changes from previous policy would be made. <br />The County Administrator was directed to contact Lawrence Alley, <br />Engineer for the Industrial Park Project, and request that Mr. Alley <br />arrange for the construction of the access road from Mattress Factory Road <br />to the area that will serve the Piedmont Steel Tube Company. It was <br />estimated that said access road would be approximately 3600 feet long and <br />would cost approximately $12,000.00. <br />Discussion ensued concerning the acquisition of the land for Lake <br />Orange. The County Administrator was directed to inform the County Attorney <br />that the Board of Commissioners wish to incorporate in said deed certain <br />provisions in lieu of some of those previously suggested, and the Board <br />further requested that the County Attorney discuss with the attorney <br />representing the property owners the suggested provisions. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the <br />meeting was adjourned. <br />Harvey D. Gattis, Acting Clerk <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br />MINUTES OF THE ORANGE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />August 2, 1967 <br />The Orange County Board of Commissioners met :n adjourned session <br />on Wednesday, August 2, 1967 at four o'clock p.m. in the Commissioners <br />Room at the Courthouse in Hillsborough, N. C. <br />Members Present: Chairman Harvey D. Bennett and Commissioners William C. <br />Ray, Henry S. Walker and Ira A. Ward. <br />Members Absent: Commissioner Carl M. Smith. <br />This meeting was held for the purpose of receiving a report from the <br />attorneys, representing the landowners of the Lace Orange Project, relative to <br />the terms of the proposed deeds of gift. Dalton Loftin and A. H. Graham <br />presented this report. <br />Discussion ensued concerning the terms and the final draft of the deeds of <br />conveyance were approved and the attorneys were instructed to prepare said deeds. <br />The Board requested the Count.,, Attorney to have ready for execution the <br />contract, pertaining to the Lake Orange Project, from Valentines Construction <br />Company to Orange County. <br />There being no further business to come before the board said meeting <br />was adjourned. <br />Harvey D.
