One <br />of the key goals of the GTRC is to examine regional development choices as the population <br />grows by another 600,000 over the next generation. <br />Conducted a year long community dialogue leading to the adoption of eight 8) Regional <br />Development pr}nciples in September 1999. <br />Worked on the ?rojects with the RDU International Airport staff including efforts to increase <br />the number of airlines serving the area and the frequency and destinations of daily passenger <br />and cargo departures. Worked on developing with IBM and RDU a prototype kiosk with inter- <br />active computer to assist both domestid and international visitors. <br />Served as the grantee for reign Trade Zone #93; made numerous presentations and <br />conducted the meetings of the Rates, Tariff, and Legal Review Board. Responsible for the <br />FTZ Subzones, mactivated #93 C, Merck, submitted subzone applications for Consolidated <br />Diesel (#214A) and did preliminary work for Perstorp Flooring. Prepared several boundary <br />modifications, moth in the Triangle and around the state. <br />Assisted #93 Operator, Longistics and the State Department of Commerce in marketing the <br />state's Foreign Trade Zones to international traders through out the world. Arranged seminars <br />via the World Trade Center NC and the NC World Trade Association to promote <br />understanding of the foreign trade zone program Attended the annual conference of the <br />National Association of Foreign Trade Zones in Hershey, Pa.
