g,C? 1 Fact 4 <br />The following letter was approved and the clerk was requested to forward same <br />to the Town of Mebane with a copy being mailed to the Orange-Alamance [cater Systems, <br />Inc. <br />"Orange-Alamance Water Corporation <br />Attention: Mr. Wiley B. Perry, Secretary <br />Route 2, Mebane, North Carolina <br />Dear Sir: <br />A proposed contract for the purchase of water by the Orange-Alamance <br />water Corporation from the City of Mebane, North Carolina, said proposed _ <br />contract embodying resolution No. 4-285 of the Mebane City Council adopted <br />on July 10, 1967, is satisfactory to the Board of Commissioners of Orange <br />County. <br />The point at which the water is to be delivered under the proposed <br />contract is on the water line being installed by Orange County along <br />Mattress Factory Road, and Orange County has a financial interest in this <br />water line; however, the actual management and the control of distribution <br />will be by the City of Mebane. The County Commissioners of Orange County <br />do by this letter agree that the City of Mebane.may sell to Orange-Alamance <br />Water Corporation on such terms, in such quantities, and at such price as is <br />generally outlined under the proposed contract above referred to. It is <br />requested that a certified copy of this contract be furnished to Orange County <br />as soon as same is executed by the contracting parties and approved by the <br />Director of Farmers Home Administration. <br />This letter is written as result of resolution adopted by the Board of <br />County Commissioners of Orange County at a meeting held on July 14, 1967. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />/s/ H. Gattis, Acting Clerk <br />MINIITES OF THE ORANGE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />July 17, 1967 <br />The Orange Ccunty Board of Commissioners met in adjourned session on Monday, <br />July 177 1967 at eight o'clock p.m. in the Commissioners Room at the Courthouse in <br />Hillsborough. <br />Members Present: Chairman Harvey D. Bennett and Commissioner William C. Ray. <br />Members Absent: Commissioners Carl M. Smith, Henry S. Walker and Ira A. Ward. <br />Members of the Person . County Board of Commissioners and Doctors J. Wilbert <br />Edgerton and William G. Hollister were present for said meeting. <br />Chairman Bennett declared that a ;uoram of membership was not present and that <br />the Board of Commissioners could not officially act on any matters, but that the <br />Board would hear the presentation of those present. <br />Doctors Edgerton and Hollister informed the Board of some of the problems <br />which would probably be encountered in making application for the Federal grant <br />which would be used to subsidize the proposed mental health program. Discussion <br />ensued concerning said application. <br />
