BOOK / FACE <br />1. That the petition of Harvey Lucas of Greenway Projects requesting <br />rezoning from a residential area to a mobile home park area be denied. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Ward, seconded by Commissioner Ray, it was moved <br />and unanimously adopted, that the recommendation of the County Planning Board be <br />upheld. <br />2. That the petition of Wade Parrish for rezoning from a residential area <br />to a mobile home park area be tabled until such time as Mr. Parrish <br />presents letters of approval showing that the waste disposal facilities <br />for his project has been approved by all of the appropriate State <br />agencies. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Smith, seconded by Commissioner Ward, it was <br />moved and unanimously adopted, that the recommendations of the County Planning <br />Board be upheld. <br />3: That the Planning Board recommended that any action on the apartment <br />district proposal be deferred until the first Monday in August. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Wand, seconded by Commissioner Smith, it was <br />moved and unanimously adopted,that the recommendations of the County Planning <br />Board be upheld. <br />James R. Farlow of Chapel Hill questioned the Board about the Dogwood <br />Acres sanitary district proposal petition. Mr. Farlow was advised that said <br />oetition had been referred to the County Attorney with the request that the <br />County Attorney consult the Bond Attorneys to secure their opinions concerning <br />the sufficiency and legal status of said petition. <br />Budget discussion ensued. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the Board meeting <br />was adjourned to meet again in adjourned sessions on Friday, July 14, 1967 <br />8 p.m. in the Commissioners Room, Monday, July 17, 1967 8 p.m. in the <br />commissioners Room and Monday, July 24, 1967 8 p.m. in the Commissioners <br />Room. <br />Harvey D. Gattis, Acting Clerk <br />MINUTES OF THE ORANGE COUNTY <br />BOARD CF COMMISSIONERS <br />July la, 1967 <br />The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in adjourned session <br />on Friday, July 14, 1967 at eight o'clock p.m. in the Commissioners Room <br />at the Courthouse in Hillsborough. <br />Members Present: Chairman Harvey D. Bennett, and Commissioners William C. <br />Ray, Henry S. Walker and Ira A. Ward. <br />Members Absent: Commissioner Carl M. Smith. <br />Marvin Walker, Mayor of the Town of Mebane, members of the Mebane Town <br />Board, Sam Pender and June Crumpler were present for this meeting. <br />June Crumpler was spokesman for the assembled group. He stated that a <br />large industry was interested in locating in Alamance County just across the <br />Crange County line and that the Town of Mebane •.:as requesting that Orange County <br />extend its current water contract to include a twelve inch (12") water line <br />along Eighth Street from the railroad to the Southern border of Mebane and Mr. <br />Crumpler further requested that the proposed water line be increased from a <br />ten inch (10") pipe to a twelve inch (1211) pipe from the intersection of Fifth <br />Street to Eleventh Street. Discussion ensued concerning this request. <br />i' tioon motion of Commissioner Ray, seconded by Commissioner Walker, it was <br />unanimously adopted that the proposed water line from Fifth Street to Eleventh <br />Street be increased from a ten inch (10") pipe to a twelve inch (12") pipe. <br />-- The representatives of the Town of Mebane were advised that Orange County <br />was not in the position to construct an additional water line along Eighth <br />Street to the southern border of the Town of Mebane.
