Jake Wicker for his <br />dedication to the citizens of Orange County and North Carolina through his service to the <br />Institute of Government at UNC-Chapel Hill, and designating Friday, December 13, 2002, as <br />Jake Wicker Day in Orange County. <br />BACKGROUND: W. Jake Wicker has served as a faculty member and administrator at the <br />Institute of Government for 47 years, authoring more than 300 articles, bulletins, monographs <br />and special studies, and helping to educate countless local government officials in the workings <br />of local government in North Carolina. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: None <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board adopt a resolution of <br />appreciation commending W. Jake Wicke u hori a the Chair to sign the reso utiolnl on behalf of <br />Orange County and North Carolina, and a <br />the Board. <br />
