Fikes, ext. 2490 <br />TELEPHONE NUMBERS:. <br />Hillsborough 732-8181 <br />Chapel Hill 968-4501 <br />Durham 688-7331 <br />Mebane 336-227-2031 <br />PURPOSE: To appoint the members of the Housing Bond Project Review and Selection <br />Committee in accordance with the County's Housing Bond Policy. <br />BACKGROUND: The Housing Bond Policy approved by the BOCC on October 15, 2002 <br />includes a provision for a Project Review and Selection (PRS) Committee to evaluate all project <br />proposals and make funding recommendations to the County Manager. The PRS Committee <br />will be composed of up to three (3) members of the Affordable Housing Advisory Board (ARAB), <br />three Orange County employees (from among the Assistant County Manager -Human <br />Services; Planning Director; Finance Director; and the County Engineer), one employee from <br />each of the Carrboro, Chapel Hill, and Hillsborough planning departments, and the County <br />Housing and Community Development Director. Following this designated committee structure, <br />the following persons are recommended for membership on the Project Review and Selection <br />Committee.: <br />ARAB Representatives Stephen Jenks; Tracey Dudley; and Frances Douglas <br />Orange County Employees Gwen Harvey; Craig Benedict; Ken Chavious; and Tara Fikes <br />Town of Chapel Hill Loryn Barnes <br />Town of Carrboro James Harris <br />Town of Hillsborough Margaret Hauth <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: This committee will review project proposals submitted in the first <br />funding round of the 2001 Housing Bond Program for $1,040,000. The RFP process was <br />opened on November 4th, and proposals are due December 16tH <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends approval of the membership of the <br />Housing Bond Project Review and Selection Committee. <br />
