Fikes, ext. 2490 <br />Bid Results <br />Work Specifications TELEPHONE NUMBERS: <br />Hillsborough 732-8181 <br />Chapel Hill 968-4501 <br />Durham 688-7331 <br />Mebane 336-227-2031 <br />PURPOSE: To award one housing rehabilitation contract for the CDBG Housing Rehabilitation <br />Program. <br />BACKGROUND: The Housing and Community Development Department solicited bids from <br />qualified housing rehabilitation contractors participating in the County's Housing Rehabilitation <br />Program. The informal bidding process is governed by the North Carolina General Statues <br />§143-131 and does not require a minimum number of bids. Additionally, present program <br />procedures provide that housing rehabilitation contracts be awarded to the lowest responsible <br />bidder. Additionally, all contractors participating in the County's Rehabilitation Program are <br />required to utilize current deconstruction and material recycling methods during the repair <br />process. <br />Sealed bids were solicited from participating contractors on October 1, 2002. Bid results are <br />attached. William Long Construction Company submitted the lowest bid respectively. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: The Scattered Site CDBG Program provides funding for this program. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends awarding the following housing <br />rehabilitation contract: <br />Dwelling Unit Bid Amount Contractor <br />246 Harper Street, Hillsborough $19,295 William Long Construction <br />
